Michael Carter supervises the Programs Division. His career spans 15 years with non-profit and government as an instructor, manager, administrator and youth counselor. Mr. Carter has worked for the DeKalb County Juvenile Court for seven years in multiple roles. He has dedicated his time and skills to helping youth as a Program Administrator, Programs Manager, Probation Supervisor, Internship Coordinator and has also been the President of the Sunshine Committee. Mr. Carter currently serves as the Programs and Probation Manager as well as the Accountability Court Manager.

Mr. Carter previously worked for the largest non-profit social service organization in the country in multiple roles, including Group Home Manager, Foster Care Recruiter and Trainer, and Residential Supervisor. Mr. Carter is an experienced CPR Instructor and is also a trained instructor for Cultural Awareness, Conflict Resolution, Reeducation of Emotionally Disturbed Youth, Aggression Replacement Therapy and Crucial Conversations to name a few.

Mr. Carter holds a Bachelor of Psychology Degree from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama and is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. He is a member of the American Probation and Parole Association (APPA) Diversity Committee and Juvenile Justice Committee. Mr. Carter was also selected for the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute Emerging Executives Program for DeKalb County. He has also been a member of the National Association of Court Managers (NACM).

Mr. Carter believes that every youth should have a bright future and enjoys helping youth see and reach their potential. His wife and him are proud parents of two wonderful children.
