DECATUR, GA – February 2022 – DeKalb County Juvenile Court (DCJC) is proud to report that the second cycle of the Youth Creating Change (YCC) YouthBuild program recently
enrolled its second cohort since our launch in November 2021. YouthBuild II, funded by the U.S. Department of Labor – Employment and Training Administration, is now recruiting for the third cohort.
YCC YouthBuild II is a grant funded, alternative education program for out-of-school and underemployed youth between the ages of 16 and 24. This program provides access to secondary and post-secondary education, skills training, nationally recognized industry certifications, and high-demand job placement. Youth meeting the following criteria are encouraged to apply: No High School Diploma; Unemployed/Underemployed; Out-of-School; Parent; Migrant; Exiting Foster Care; Incarcerated Parents; Low-Income; Documented Disability; and Previous/Current Involvement with the Justice System.
YouthBuild II has partnered with Construction Ready (formerly CEFGA), Goodwill of North Georgia (GNG), and Life Solutions for Health to provide industry-recognized credentialing opportunities in construction, welding, healthcare, hospitality, supply chain logistics and IT.
YouthBuild II is open to youth in the following zip codes: Clarkston – 30021; Scottdale – 30079; Decatur – 30030, 30032, 30034, 30035; Stone Mountain – 30083, 30084, 30088; Lithonia – 30038, 30058; Atlanta – 30316, 30317.
